Welcome to WILLIAMSON’S WAY! This episode features part one of “Just Add Walter”, the story of an advertising writer from England who gets his dream job in Hawaii – if only he didn’t have to fake his confidence! Our other story is about a man with a unique identity crisis – he can’t stop changing identities. This is “The New Norm L”. In between, I’ll share plenty of silly improvised songs, comedy sketches, impressions, and lively commercials including the first radio commercial I ever made, back in college. Only on this show can you hear such rarities as “Woody Allen’s Diary”. This episode is brought to you by our sponsors Deet Bug Spray, Coat Of Honour Paint, Meditation-On-The-Run, and Halls Cough Tablets. Come on in!
Show Excerpt: Woody Allen’s Diary
WOODY ALLEN: Well (coughs), lemme start at the very beginning. I got into directing movies from a lot of different personal directions. My whole family lived under one roof, ya know. No walls, just a roof. I used to sleep directly under the roof, and of course, it used to bend my nose this way and that. It meant that I had an unhappy childhood, ya know. Whenever we played house, I was always the carpet. I really wanted to be an artist. A trapeze artist, but I kept banging into my classmates’s easels whenever I’d try to execute post-Flemish quintuple somersaults off the swing. I don’t know, my father seemed aimless, especially with a Colt 45, which was lucky for me, but unfortunately not for the family parakeet, and a brace of Dalmatians. Personally, I think my father just had a poor sense of direction, ya know, and when I told him so I thought he’d hit the roof, but in the end he just ricocheted off the Motorola. My mother was nice though, she wanted a close-knit family, so she made us all an argyle sock. A family size argyle sock, which we all used to wear to Coney Island. My favorite activity was the family sack race, although one day the race was so energetic I ended up in a sack with another family, one comprised of six dwarves and a yak, all of them lightly sautéed in a provocative béarnaise sauce. Apparently this family was competing for the Guinness Book of Records for first family to travel the world entirely by the U.S. postal service, and I think it’s this outlook on life which caused me to accidentally marry my ex-girlfriend’s daughter.
